We are often asked about where our funding comes from.
Most of our budget comes from sources right here in Midland, including the United Way, local foundations, and contributions from individuals and area businesses. About 20 percent of our funding comes from a federal block grant for workforce literacy and government draw-down program for Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language students.
Each year, we raise more than $25,000 at our World’s Greatest Dessert Party fundraiser, held each year in February or March on Fat Tuesday. Almost a third of our annual income comes from the generous foundations that call Midland home.
